description for "Annuals: Lobelia tenuior"

Fan-shaped flowers of purple to indigo blue with small white eyes grace this summer and fall-blooming annual. The flowers are twice as large as other edging lobelias, and bloom unabated throughout summer. Fresh bright green foliage completes the show. Noted as best in cooler summer areas, but can bloom well even during summers heat and drought. Provide rich, well-drained soil. Number of weeks from sowing to bloom: 12-14. Poisonous if ingested. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman

History:

Lobelia tenuior is native to Australia.
