A favorite among those who have little water to works with. Cactus and succulents are a great way to add structure to your garden.
The great plants are such a great way to use space whether big or small. These drought tolerant plants are perfect for areas that have a hard time with water, or for use as an indoor plant- just be careful some of these plant have an OUCH effect.

Best bulbs for Austin
posted on 11/20/09. 3 comments
Slowly thinking a season ahead with our garden. Have a few beds where I want blooming blubs, and then when they die back want something else to pop up :) Am I too late to plant bulbs for next spring? We planted crocosmia bulbs which are perfect for the late summer. Looking for best combo of blooming bulbs + a plant that will step up when the blooms die back.
Would love to get the other Austin gardeners (Barry :)) top picks.
This monster is going in the front bed and I would love blooming bulbs all around/in it in the spring. By the way, this agave is being transplanted from a certain ex-garden folk (Tina).
