Not many plants celebrate spring better than a tulip! Adding drama and beauty to a garden or a vase after winter's cold, they are delightful to behold. Tulips should be chilled 6 - 8 weeks prior to planting where winters are mild. General planting guidelines are as follows: September/October in zones 4 and 5; October/November in zones 6 and 7; November/December in zones 8 and 9; and late December to early January in zone 10.
