Hostas

Introduction

Hostas are beautiful shade loving plants grown for their exceptional foliage. The leaves come in a range of sizes and colors including green, white, gold and blue. The undulating movement of dappled shade can be created by using a variety of foliage plants. These versatile plants are available in small, medium, and large sizes, with a wide range of foliage types--from lancelike, glossy leaves to heart-shaped, softly puckered foliage. Some shade gardeners find that the smorgasbord of hosta varieties are enough to fill their shady spots.

Hostas are beautiful shade loving plants grown for their exceptional foliage. The leaves come in a range of sizes and colors including green, white, gold and blue. Hostas like morning sun and afternoon shade though the blue hostas tend to need more shade while the other varieties can tolerate more sun. Early blooming bulbs and summer blooming annuals like impatiens are good hosta companions.
