Warm Weather Crops

by digthedirt

Tips for starting your vegetable seeds this spring.

Cold-sensitive vegetables, such as tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers should be started indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected frost in your area. Seedlings should be hardened off for a week to 10 days before they are moved to their permanent place in the garden. To harden off a seedling, set it in a protective location during the day, and move it back indoors at night. The best time to plant your seedlings is on an overcast day, with no wind.
