harvesting leeks
This is a great crop even if temps get down to 25 degrees F!
How long does it take to grow?
- Depending on the variety- summer leeks can take up to 90 days to mature, winter varieties take longer more like 130-140 days to mature.
When should I get them out of the ground?
- They can be eaten at any size, but are full grown when they are 1" in diameter
Extend your harvest!
- For milder climates you can extend your harvest into winter by mulching with straw around the plant to keep it warm.
