When your rose bushes are in full bloom, take advantage of their fragrant (and flavorful) blossoms by cooking them into something delicious. Everything's coming up roses in the kitchen! This is great for a garden party...

ROSE PETAL WINE PUNCH

Rose, Miniature, "Angel Wings"

 

Prep Time: 5 mins

Done in: 3 hours

 

Ingredients:

3 cups - deeply scented and colored rose petals

4 tbs. - sugar

1 quart - sparkling water

1 - lemon

1 bottle - chilled fruity white wine


STEP 1:

  • Put 3 cups of deeply scented and colored rose petals in a mixing bowl and  sprinkle 4 tbs of sugar over them.

STEP 2:

  • Using the bottom of a glass, slightly crush together the roses and sugar.

STEP 3:

  • Add a quart bottle of sparkling water and the juice of the lemon.

STEP 4:

  • Chill for 3 to 4 hours to let the flavors steep together.

STEP 5:

  • To serve, strain off the liquid into a glass punch bowl.
  • Add white wine, and float rose petal ice cubes in the punch just before serving.
