A company called Green Living Technologies has a vertical gardening solution for all you urban farmers out there. Check out a great slide show on the New York Times that gives a nice overview here.

I especially like the tripod version, where you can set up a vegetable garden almost anywhere, regardless of whether you have good soil - or any soil! And, the designer in me appreciates the modern aesthetic that the wall gives to any space. I might just have to this out next Spring and see how it goes!
