Hill Top Backyard Natives

One lone Mexican Hat
« 1 of 5 »

Gardening on our hill top, we decided to let the back hill slope stay native (with a little help.) Seasonally, I pull up the undesireables. I did attempt to plant some wildflower seeds 2 years ago. A very limited variety actually came up. I really didn't prep the site well.... By and large, the Mexican Hats are the only flowers to have stayed. Some native grasses along with the native multi-colored lantana are springing up too.

A nice kick for me to look at gardens other than locals.

Thanks! I love looking at other gardens as well. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!

I love the natural rock garden with wildflowers! I miss Central Texas spring wildflowers... we have our own assortment in the Pacific NW, but it's not quite the same.
